Meet The Team

Aysia Welch is the CEO and Creative of Embody Dance & Creative Arts Studio. She is a Columbus Native and has been dancing since the age of 5 with a diverse background in a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Liturgical, and Dunham Technique. She began her training at J.A.Z Dance & more, Barnett Recreation Center, and continued training at BalletMet Columbus as a part of the Outreach Scholarship Program where she performed in multiple company shows as a student. She has performed in numerous productions locally in the Columbus Dance Community such as The Chocolate Nutcracker, The Adventures of P.A.N. and more. Prior to opening Embody Dance, she has taught at a variety of dance studios, recreation centers, and served as the Dance/Fitness Coordinator for the New Albany Dance Fesitval.

Aysia is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a B.A in Criminology & Sociology. She has an extensive background in child, family, and social services. Aysia has also danced commercially in Los Angles, California apart of the Debbie Reynolds Commercial Dance Scholarship Program.

She is also co-founder of The Buckeye Nation Collaborative, a statewide initiative to provide dance education and training to local dancers. She enjoys giving back to the community through creative arts and believes it to be an important outlet.
